That said, as there is no known solution to this issue other than strength-exiting the game (or editing maps to remove leaks, which can exist cumbersome and requires some map editing knowledge, which not everyone has), I'd generally recommend using another version such as 1.30.4 or 1.29.2 (LINK) and reserving one.31.one simply for playing maps or campaigns that were made specifically for it.
